Srinagar: Minister of State for Home, Mr Mushtaq Ahmed Lone today lashed out at Hurriyat leaders for spreading canards in a bid to foment communal trouble in the State by claiming that some Muslim youth had been converted in Doda district. Sharply reacting to the Hurriyat leaders claim made at press conference at Srinagar recently, Mr Lone said that these allegations have been got probed into by the police and found totally baseless. No such incident has taken place anywhere in Doda district, he said adding that obviously these canards and baseless reports are being floated with ulterior motive to rouse communal passions of a section of the people. Hoping that the Hurriyat leaders will desist from such gimmickry, the Minister asserted that the sagacious and politically conscious people of the State realize the level of frustration among dejected leaders who have been thriving on such machinations to further their vested interests. Communal amity, tolerance and co-existence has been the pride heritage of Jammu and Kashmir, and the people will not pay any heed to such virulent propaganda aimed at vitiating the tranquility in the State, he added.
