60 kg RDX, ammunition seized from J&K militants

Jammu: In a major haul, Army troops on Wednesday seized 60 kg of RDX and 25,200 rounds of ammunition from a militant hideout in Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. On a specific information, troops launched a search operation in Achhad area of the district on October 9 and after 36 hours of extensive search, they located the hideout where militants had stored a huge quantity of weaponary, the spokesman said. The haul comprised 35 boxes containing 25,200 rounds of assorted ammunition, 21 Chinese rockets and 23 rocket boosters besides the RDX. Wednesday''s haul, the third major recovery in the area in the last two months, had dealt a blow to the terrorists and their masters across the line of control and thwarted their designs to cause large-scale IED blasts in the Jammu division, the spokesman said.
