Srinagar: Indian security forces killed 13 terrorists in five overnight operations in Jammu and Kashmir, the police said Saturday. Six terrorists were killed in the mountainous Mahore in Udhampur district, about 150 km north of Jammu while three were killed in Dooru in Anantnag district, about 70 km south of Srinagar. Police said the terrorists were killed following information given by villagers. Security forces moved into the Mahore forests after learning that a group of foreign militants was hiding in the area. Troops laid a siege around the mud hut where the terrorists were hiding. The terrorists spotted the security personnel and a gun battle followed, leaving six of them dead. The army said it killed four militants in Dooru, two in Banihal in Doda district and one each in the Sunderbani and Buddhal areas in Rajouri. Police sources claimed the villagers in the area were helping the security forces in a big way by supplying information about terrorists.
