4 soldiers die in Lashkar suicide attack

Jammu: MILITANTS MOUNTED another suicide attack on an Army camp in north Kashmir on Sunday, killing a JCO and three soldiers. Six security personnel were injured. Two of the attackers were killed. Abu Thalla and Abu Abdul Rehman, believed to be activists of Lashkar-e-Tayyeba, stormed the Army camp of 24 Rashtriaya Rifles at Magam, Handwara, about 75 km north of Srinagar. The two militants of the LeT''s fidayeen (suicide squad) entered the camp and began firing indiscriminately. The deceased have been identified as JCO Ram Nath Ram, Havaldar Arun Kumar, Lance Naik Fareed Ali Khan and Sepoy Kumar Singh. Bodies of the slain militants were handed over to Handwara police station for legal formalities. They said troops recovered two AK assault rifles, eight magazines, 330 rounds, three grenades and two disposable rocket launchers from the slain militants.
