Army foils intrusion bid by militants in J&K

Jammu: Army troops today foiled an intrusion bid by Pakistan-trained militants in Noushera sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman said here. The spokesman said troops sighted a group of five to six heavily armed militants near the line of control in Noushera sector at around 10 am and challenged them. However, the ultras opened fire from their automatic weapons and as the troops retaliated, fled away into Pakistan-occupied- Kashmir (PoK). They were seen dragging two of their injured associates towards PoK side, the spokesman said adding during search an AK assault rifle and a rucksack containing four RPG rockets, one UBGL and two hand grenades were recovered from the area.
