Nine LeT militants killed in J&K

Srinagar: Nine Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants were among nine people killed in Jammu and Kashmir, where the ultras set off an improvised explosive device (IED), injuring three soldiers and a civilian on Tuesday. Three LeT militants were killed in an encounter with security forces at Zurnar in Kupwara district, he said, adding that 3 AK assault rifles, 16 grenades and a large quantity of ammunition were recovered from the militants.The spokesman said that six more LeT militants were killed in gun-fights with secuirty forces at Taranwali-Bafliaz and Dhabi-Balakote in border district of Poonch in Jammu. Some arms and ammunition were recovered from the ultras.Three army personnel and a civilian were injured in a powerful IED explosion triggered by militants at Warpora in Baramulla district, he said. Official sources said that in Jammu, three militants barged into the house of one Mohammad Munshi in Khadaliyan village of Rajouri district and asked him to produce his son. When Munshi told the militants that his son was not there, they opened indiscriminate fire, killing him and his 22-year-old daughter, the sources said.
