Jammu: Former Minister and National Conference leader Dr Mehboob Beg today said the leaders of All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) have been exposed before the masses after rejection of peace talks offer made by the Centre. In a statement issued here today, he said this has now proved beyond doubt that Hurriyat is not well wisher of the people of Kashmir valley and it is not interested in the restoration of peace in the trouble torn State. Dr Beg said had it not been so the Hurriyat leadership would not have rejected the peace talks offer made by the Central Government emissary Mr K C Pant. He while ridiculing the Hurriyat leadership urged the people to strengthen the hands of the National Conference, chief Dr Farooq Abdullah who despite facing all odds is working tirelessly for restoration of peace and normalcy in the state. Recalling the role of NC , Dr Beg said the Party has been championing the cause of the people of the state over last eight decades and made many sacrifices in pre independence and post independence period for the welfare of people of the State. He said NC always felt the pain when the masses were in trouble and jumping in poll fray in 1996 was not to gain power but to lick the scars of masses to which the Party will be always committed.
