Jammu Railway Station Shoot-out Toll Rises To 13

Jammu: With two more people, including a woman, succumbing to injuries, the death toll in the shoot-out at Jammu railway station on Tuesday rose to 13, an official spokesman said on Thursday. Sepoy A S Ravi of Rashtriya Rifles and Harnam Kour of Chak-Salaria area of Jammu died in the hospital on Wednesday night, he said. Ten people were killed and 32 others injured, when suspected Lashker-e-Toiba militants opened fire at the railway station here. One of the attackers was also killed in retaliatory action by a security personnel. State governor Girish Chander Saxena and chief minister Farooq Abdullah visited the injured in the hospital on Wednesday and gave cheques of Rs 5000 to each of them. Meanwhile, Jammu Red Cross society has given a cash aid of Rs 2000 each to the injured.
