Srinagar: Lashker-e-Jabbar, the militant outfit which has launched a burqa (veil for women) drive in Kashmir, on Sunday warned tailors and cloth merchants against overcharging for tailoring and cloth for the veils. In its first press statement here today, the militant outfit confirmed having extended the deadline for women in Kashmir to wear burqa till September 10 and said its activists will take serious action against tailors and cloth merchants if they indulge in overcharging. The warning follows complaints by local people, especially women and girls, that tailors and cloth merchants had increased rates for stitching and cloth for burqas.
