Infiltration bid foiled, 4 ultras killed in Jammu

JAMMU: Security forces on Friday foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control and shot dead four militants in Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu division, a defence spokesman said here. A group of five militants opened fire at the security forces during their bid to infiltrate through the Poonch sector, forcing the troops to retaliate, the spokesman said, adding three ultras were killed in the ensuing exchange of fire. Troops recovered three AK-47 rifles from the slain militants. In another incident, security forces killed one militant during an encounter in forest area of Budhal tehsil of Rajouri district on Friday. One AK-rifle, 100 AK ammunition, four AK magazines and two hand grenades were recovered from the encounter scene. ( PTI )
