Two Al-Badr militants killed in Jammu

Jammu: Two militants and two security personnel, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), were killed during an encounter in Rajouri district since Sunday, a police spokesman said on Monday. A joint team of army and Special Operation Group of state police launched an operation in Bathia village in the district to flush out militants on Sunday, he said. As they cordoned the house in which militants had taken shelter, they were fired upon and in retaliatory action, two militants of Al-Badr outfit were shot dead, he said. An army JCO and a police jawan also lost their lives. The security forces recovered two AK-56 rifles with seven magazines, two hand grenades, four detonators from the slain militants. In another incident, a powerful IED explosion shook Khemra area of Rajouri on Sunday evening. However, no casualty was reported, the spokesman said. One civilian, who was injured in the cross firing was later hospitalised, he added.
