Jaish militant among 10 killed in J&K

SRINAGAR: A top militant of Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit, two securitymen and four other ultras were among 10 people killed in separate incidents, while militants set off a land-mine, abducted a villager and set ablaze a house in Jammu and Kashmir since last night, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.The self-styled district commander of Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit, Abu Hilal was killed by the security forces in an encounter at Malhan in Surankote sector of Poonch district in Jammu region on Monday night, the spokesman said.In the same district, militants abducted a villager from his residence in Chingus sector and set afire the house of another person in Mendhar sector on Monday night, he said. Two unidentified militants were killed by security forces in an ongoing operation at Qaziabad in Handwara area of Kupwara in north Kashmir early on Tuesday, he said. Six houses were gutted during the encounter which started last evening, official sources said.An unidentified foreign mercenary was gunned down during search operations in Banihal area of Doda district in Jammu division on Tuesday, the spokesman said. A Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant of Pakistani origin Abu Hamza, was killed in an encounter with security forces at Rafiabad in Baramulla district on Tuesday, he said. A BSF jawan was killed by militants while he was on patrol duty in Mahore area of Udhampur district on Monday evening, the spokesman added.
