6 killed in J&K; One hurt in Pak firing

Jammu: Six Persons were killed and a BSF jawan injured in separate incidents of violence in Jammu and Kashmir since Monday. A BSF jawan was injured when Pakistani rangers resorted to firing in Akhnoor sector of Jammu division on early Tuesday. The spokesman said BSF constable sustained bullet wounds when the Pakistani forces fired on the Garoda border outpost. Pakistani Rangers also opened fire at several posts in Samba and R S Pura sub-sectors along the border on Monday night, he said, adding the cross-firing continued till Tuesday morning. Meanwhile six persons, including three militants and a special police officer, were killed in Kashmir since Monday. Two unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with the Army at Qaziabad in the Handwara area of Kupwara district on Tuesday.
