Four LeT militants among six killed in Jammu

Jammu: Four Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants and two villagers were killed in Jammu division where ultras kidnapped four civilians since Wednesday night, official sources said. Three LeT militants were killed in a fierce gunbattle between a heavily armed group of militants and troops in Bandi Khan area of Poonch district on Wednesday night after security forces cordorned off the area and launched a search operation. Over 17 militants managed to escape. One LeT militant was gunned down by troops in a remote area of Rajouri district on Thursday, they added. Militants reportedly kidnapped one person from his house in Balakote area in Poonch district and killed him on Wednesday night. Another civilian from Udhyanpur village was shot dead by ultras, they added. Militants kidnapped four people from a remote village in Mahore in Udhampur district late on Wednesday night, they said, adding a search operation has been launched to rescue them. Two Indian Reserve Police (IRP) jawans were injured in an IED explosions in Gool and Nashera areas of Udhampur district late on Wednesday night, they added.
