Srinagar: Former Hurriyat chairman and leader of the Jamaat-i-Islami Syed Ali Shah Geelani said on Thursday that PM Vajpayee''s assertion that Jammu and Kashmir were an integral part of India was a ''white lie''. ''Kashmir is a disputed territory and needs to be resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir'', Geelani told reporters here. ''It is an unrealistic claim to say Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. On the contrary, people of Jammu and Kashmir have been fighting for the right of self- determination right from 1947,'' Geelani said, taking exception to the remarks by Vajpayee at Somnath in Gujarat on Wednesday. Geelani said the ongoing struggle in Jammu and Kashmir shall continue till the right of self-determination was given to the people of the state. Geelani, who had served as member of Legislative Assembly for at least 15 years, alleged ''no elections were held in a free and fair manner'' in the state ever.
