BSF jawan killed in Pak firing in Jammu

JAMMU: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed in firing by Pakistani troops from across the international border (IB) in Akhnoor sector on Monday, BSF sources said here.The sources said that constable Aklesh Singh was killed on the spot in the firing by Pakistani troops on the forward border outpost at Kanachak in the sector.BSF troops returned the fire and intermittent exchange of firing continued between the two sides till Monday evening, they said.Light arms intermittent firing along the IB also took place between BSF troops and Pak Rangers at 17 places in Jammu district and 10 places in Kathua district on Sunday night.However, there was no report of any casualty or damage to property during the exchange of firing in these areas on the Indian side, the sources added.
