512 kg RDX recovered in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Army troops have recovered 512 kg of RDX and a huge cache of arms and ammunition from a militant hideout in the frontier district of Kupwara, an official spokesman said here on Wednesday. The explosives were believed to have been left behind by militants following intensified patrolling by the troops on the borders, he said. The army, while on a routine patrol on Tuesday, located the arms and ammunition at Darsun jungle near Trehgam. Besides the RDX, the recovery included 39 rifle grenades, seven detonators, 14 IED fuses, two AK rifles, 512 rounds, 107 mm rockets, nine rocket projectile guns (RPG) and bombs, the spokesman said.
