Militants disguised as policemen kill six in Kashmir

Jammu: Six persons, including four minority community members belonging to the Village Defence Committee (VDC), were killed by militants in Udhampur district of Jammu division on Friday night, official sources said on Saturday. They said the militants, dressed as policemen, visited Kathal village in Panchayari area of the district past midnight and asked the four VDC members alongwith two villagers to accompany them to nearby Naka area for patrolling, and killed them just outside the village. Police and security forces have rushed to the spot and efforts were on to nab the culprits, they said adding that further details were awaited. Meanwhile, an official spokesman said Jammu and Kashmir minister of state Najeeb Suhrawardy and DGP A K Suri would be visiting the village later in the day to take stock of the situation.
