Time not ripe for Omar''s return to state politics

Jammu: Putting at rest all rumours regarding elevation of Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Mr Omar Abdullah as president of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah today said that time was not ripe to put such a great responsibility on Omar. ''Although some times back we had decided to bring Omar in the State politics, but the proposal has been postponed for the time being'', Dr Abdullah said in reply to question. '' Omar will not return to State politics as of now'', he said, adding, '' at appropriate time he will be given charge to lead the party''. Chief Minister, however, said that when Omar will come back he (Omar) will follow process of the party. ''Omar will take charge as National Conference chief only after his election as party president'', he said. It is worthwhile to mention here that Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah had announced that Omar Abdullah will take charge of the National Conference chief in the month of April.
