LeT, JeM, Hizb form joint committee in J&K

Jammu: With an aim to intensify militant activities in south of Pir Panjal ahead of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, three terrorist outfits Jaish-e-Mohmmad, Lashker-e-Toiba and Hizbul Mujahideen have set up a Joint Coordination Forum (JCF) to work unitedly, official sources said. The forum headed by a top commander has been set up with the aim to intensify violence and attacks in Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Udhampur, Kathua and Jammu district (south of Pir Panjal) ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the sources told PTI. A meeting of top commanders, including sectors commander of 10 sectors of Jammu division was held in Surankote hills recently and the JCF was set-up under the command of a local commander Shmas Khan, the sources said. Militants of these outfit, who had internal rivalries and differences with foreign mercenaries have decided to ignore all their differences and intensify their activities, the sources said. Militants have taken this step to create hurdles in the smooth conduct of elections in the region, an official monitoring the security situation said.
