SRINAGAR: The suspense over the future of Omar Abdullah''s continuance as Union minister and his father Farooq Abdullah joining the Centre continued with Omar asking reporters to ''wait and see.'' ''Have you heard me announce my resignation? I have not announced my resignation,'' Omar told reporters when asked whether he would quit the Cabinet. He took over as National Conference (NC) president from his father Farooq on June 23. Asked if his father would join the Union ministry when it was expanded on July 1, he shot back ''Why are you asking me? Ask Farooq sahib.'' He said the NC was being consulted on the issue. Omar also denied he was taking over as chief minister of the state. ''Who says I am taking over as the chief minister? These rumours start from your newspapers only,'' he told a reporter. Union Textiles Minister Kashiram Rana, who is on a three-day visit to the state, said ''as far as reshuffle of council of ministers is concerned, the status quo with regard to Jammu and Kashmir will be maintained.''
