JKLF warning to Pakistan

Jammu: The pro-independence Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front has warned Pakistan against turning the Line of Control into a permanent border between India and Pakistan, saying “if Islamabad does so, it would have to face the consequences”. Mr Amanullah Khan, JKLF chairman, has said: “Changing LoC into permanent border would be tantamount to stabbing Kashmiris in the back.” Accepting LoC as the permanent border would first mean complete negation of Pakistan’s “principled stand” on Kashmir. Second, it would make the ‘‘sacrifice’’ of 80,000 ‘’Kashmiri martyrs’’ meaningless and damage Pakistan-Kashmir relations resulting in un-imaginable loss to both. Mr Khan said the only peaceful, practical and permanent solution to the Kashmir problem was to re-unite the divided state and make it a fully independent country.
