Srinagar: National Conference on Sunday once again made the autonomy for Jammu and Kashmir as its main poll plank for the Assembly elections saying such a move would repose people''s faith in the Centre. Releasing the party manifesto on 20th death anniversary of party founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah at his graveyard, NC president Omar Abdullah said, ''We believe that the restoration of our constitutional status snatched by deceit can restore the people''s faith in the Union (of India) and satisfy their urges and aspirations''. ''Our people have a unique sense of dignity and identity that has been enshrined by our constitutional fathers in the Constitution. Our people aspire to see that autonomy be restored,'' party''s chief ministerial candidate said. ''Our legislators will continue to pursue the issue with vigour and vitality in the house till it is achieved,'' he said. He said the Centre would have to talk to the Kashmir representatives on the basis of autonomy report prepared by the National Conference government. ''We did take three years to prepare the report but it was to ensure that nobody can point out any shortcomings in it,'' he added.
