4.34 lakh voters to exercise franchise in 4th phase J&K polls

Jammu: Over 4.34 lakh electorates from six assembly constituencies of Doda district will exercise their franchise through 534 polling stations to decide the fate of 56 candidates in the fourth and final phase of elections in Jammu and Kashmir on October 8. All necessary arrangements for conducting free and fair assembly polls have been made and the election machinery has been geared up for final touches, District Election Officer, Doda, Basharat Ahmed Dhar said. Dhar said that out of 534 polling stations in the district, 243 are hypersensitive and 291 sensitive. He said that special care has been taken to make all necessary poll arrangements for far-flung areas. In this regard, special helicopter services are being availed to lift men and material to accessible areas. He said that no local staff shall be deployed for election duty in the assembly segment''s where they are residing.
