4 killed, explosives recovered in Jammu

JAMMU: Four persons, including a woman, were killed and another injured in separate incidents of violence in Doda, Poonch and Udhampur districts, where security forces detected and defused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), officials said on Tuesday. A woman was killed and her brother was injured in cross firing between security forces and militants at Hari-Marhot in Surankote tehsil of Poonch district on Monday, the sources said, adding that the injured was later rushed to sub-district hospital in Surankote. They said, police also recovered the body of one Feteh Mohhamad with slit throat from forest area in Gool tehsil of Udhampur. He was earlier kidnapped from his house in Hill Dalwa village. Reports from Doda district said that militants killed one person at Thachi village in Banihal area and another in Shoran Bhli village during the period. Security forces, on a tip off, recovered 10 kgs of IED planted in a shop in Sumber village of Doda on Monday evening. The IED, fitted in an Aluminium container with complete circuit, was later defused by experts.
