11 terrorists killed in J&K

Jammu: A total of 11 terrorists were killed by security forces in separate incidents since Monday night. Forces shot dead five terrorists who crossed over from across the border through Nanga area of Samba sector in Jammu division early on Tuesday, official sources said in Jammu. The five intruders tried to sneak into India between 3.00 am and 5.00 am. Security forces warned them to stop, but they continued to advance under the cover of firing by Pakistani troops, sources said, adding forces then opened fire killing all of them. Meanwhile, an Army jawan was injured when terrorists detonated an improvised explosive device through remote control near a security force picket at a high school in Darhal in Rajouri district last evening. The injured jawan was later hospitalised, the sources said. In another incident, Army busted a terrorist hideout in Gool area of Udhampur district and recovered one country made gun, grenades and 31 rounds of AK rifle and an antenna of a wireless set. 6 killed in Poonch encounter Forces gunned down six terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen group in an encounter in Balakote area of Poonch district defence sources said in Poonch. Acting on a tip off, Army troops launched an operation in Danjot village in the Balakote area on Monday night and six terrorists of the outfit were killed in a prolonged encounter the sources said. The encounter was continuing and further details were awaited, they said.
