New Delhi: Assam Governor S K Sinha will be the new governor of Jammu and Kashmir as state Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has informally agreed to the name, highly placed sources said on Friday night. Sinha, who is currently abroad, will succeed Girish Chandra Saxena. Bihar Governor Vinod Pande, who has not been keeping too well, is also likely to be changed, the sources said, adding that names of new governors in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh besides Bihar and Assam are likely to be finalised by the end of this month. Lt Governor of Delhi Vijai Kapoor is expected to get a second term, they said, observing that BJP Vice- Presidents P L Khandelwal and Kailashpati Mishra and senior party leader J P Mathur might get gubernatorial positions. The sources said the Centre was not considering a purely political person for the Assam governor's job.
