Hizb confirms 334 of its militants killed

SRINAGAR: Hizbul Mujahideen today confirmed that its 334 militants were killed by security forces last year.In a statement its spokesman said the slain militants included 49 district commanders, six batallion commanders, five company commanders and 11 section commanders. Hizb supreme commander Syed Salah-u-Din, command council and operational commander Saiful Islam have paid rich tributes to the militants killed by the security personnel in 2002.The spokesman claimed that heavy toll of security personnel was also taken in 2002. According to him Hizb carried out 567 attacks which included 78 IED blasts, 129 grenade- rocket attacks, 182 amubshes and three suicidal attacks. He claimed that 1894 security men were also killed by his organisation during the period.
