Struggle for Chenab Valley gaining momentum: Rehman

Jammu: Struggle for creation of Chenab Valley Hill Development Council has been gaining momentum with every passing day and people have started coming forward to bring the struggle to its logical conclusion. This was stated by chief patron of Council Sheikh Abdul Rehman while addressing a meeting of office bearers of the Council. He said that people have starting realising that the age old discrimination and neglect could be brought to end by creation of Council for Doda and they are coming forward to take the struggle to its logical conclusion. In the meeting, the participants expressed satisfaction over the success during the one day convention at Batote which was attended by workers and delegates from 15 blocks of Chenab Valley including Gool block. They also lauded the dedication and cooperation extended by its president Mohd Arshad Malik and ladies wing president Amrit Varsha. Earlier, the meeting expressed shock and grief over the killing of Ghulam Nabi Tak and observed two minutes silence for the peace to the departed soul. It was unanimously observed that the struggle for Council has suffered a great loss with the killing of Mr Tak, who was the president of the Council. The participants decided to meet on third week of September to chalk out future course of action. Those who addressed the meeting included Sheikh Abdul Rehman, Hari Krishan, Manohar Nath, Abdul Latief and Mohd Ayub.
