Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan Wednesday made it clear that idea of a sovereign Kashmir is not viable . 'This idea is impractical because it will be really hard for independent Kashmir to maintain its sovereignty in the neighbourhood of India,' he made these remarks while talking to European Union delegation who called on him at PM house . History is evident that India occupied independent states of Junagarh and Hyderabad Daccan soon after the independence and in presence of such a neighbour it will be hard for Kashmiris to defend their sovereignty, he added . Sardar Sikandar apprised the EU delegation about true health of Kashmir freedom movement saying this movement is ages old and Kashmiris have been fighting for their freedom for many centuries, however, this movement should not be termed as an act of terrorism. 'There is no truth in Indian allegation of cross border infiltration in Indian held valley and Kashmiris are struggling for their freedom,' he added. 'Kashmiris only are fighting for their right of self determination and this is their birth right and no one could deny them this right at any cost,' he maintained . Until and unless Kashmiris will achieve their right of self-determination peace in the region is way out of question, AJK premier held . However the peace in the region will come when international community will pressurise India to sincerely start parleys with Pakistan and Kashmiri leadership . 'EU must play its role for Kashmiris' freedom as it is a very strong and effective forum and it should use its influence on India for the settlement of Kashmir dispute,' he asked EU delegation . Referring to recent cease- fire along Line of Control (LoC) he termed it a welcome step but stressed that this step would be effective when India will take positive steps to resolve Kashmir issue . AJK Premier also urged upon international community to laud Pakistan's peace overtures for regional stability . He also apprised EU about AJK government's steps in development of people of Kashmir . Later on parliamentary party of Muslim conference held its meeting under the chair of Sardar Sikandar Hayat that was well attended by Supreme Head of MC Sardar Mohammad Abdul Qayyum, Sardar Atiq Ahmed, President MC and other members of parliamentary party .
