Jammu: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti has alleged that National Conference leader Omar Abdullah was spreading all sorts of canards and lies in an attempt to mislead the innocent Kashmiris with regard to State Subject Bill. In a press statement issued here today, the PDP leader said that people know it very well that on March 6, when this Bill was taken up for passage in the Upper House, four members of the National Conference were made to abstain by the party leadership with an ulterior design. Even when two of these members were personally approached for attending the House they refused on the pretext of ill health while infact both of them were seen immediately at Holi Milan Party. Mehbooba Mufti challenged Omar Abdullah to prove that on that day the House was adjourned for any other reason but for want of quorum. She said that statement made by Omar at his press conference in Srinagar yesterday was nothing but a bundle of lies. She contested the claim of Dr Farooq Abdullah that he had supported and now criticised the provisions of the bill after it was unanimously adopted by the State assembly. It is surprising that Farooq Abdullah was seen on a private TV channel in Jammu speaking against this bill but overnights changed his colours and started speaking against it. She said people of State are politically matured and understand NC leaders’ designs.
