Prosperity In South Asia Links With Liberation Of Kashmir: JKLF

Rawalpindi: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front has said that prosperity in South Asia links with the liberation of Kashmir and peace can't be established without the changing of the environment. During a NLF's Central Committee meeting presided by its President Shaukat Maqbool Butt here Saturday, he urged both the countries to take practical steps for the resolution of this long standing issue. The meeting thoroughly reviewed the Nehru-Liaquat Pact, Tashkant and Simla agreements, Lahore Declaration, Agra Summit, Bus and Cricket Diplomacy and restoration of contacts between the people of two countries. The meeting also discussed the present peace efforts, relaxation in visa policy and exchanges of delegations. The meeting demanded that the meeting should not be confined at officials level of both the countries, but it should be expanded downwards to the people to generate public opinion. The Central Committee also called on the leadership of both the countries to honour the international commitment and give the right of franchise to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It reiterated the commitment for establishing peace in the region, but the people of Kashmir will not abandon the political, social and legal right of self determination. In order to make the party effective, several committees have been formed. Arif Shahid I J Khawaja, Abdul Qayyum Chaudhry, Sardar Imtiaz Khan, Sardar Anwar, Ramzam Daat Advocate, Mir Muhammad Sadiq, Shakeel Sheikh, Sajjad Subhani, Anwar Latif Dar, Ayaz Khawaja, Naheem Khokhar and Shashta Afroze Gull also addressed the meeting.
