Militants Behead Sons Of Ex-captain

Srinagar: Militants beheaded two sons of a retired Army officer in Baramulla district of north Kashmir on Thursday, official sources said. Unidentified militants raided the house of the retired Army captain, Ghulam Mohammad Khan, at Chak-e-Arsalan Khan in Bandipora area and dragged out his two sons, Manzoor Ahmad Khan and Riyaz Ahma Khan. Both the brothers were then beheaded by the militants, who suspected them of being informers for the security forces, the sources said. In a separate incident, militants raided Banderpora village of Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Wednesday night and shot at and injured five persons for casting their votes in the recently held parliamentary elections. The victims, identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Band, Mohammed Shaban Pader, Mohammed Amin Dar, Ghulam Qadir Padroo and Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh, have been hospitalised. Militants also shot and injured one Ajaz Ahmad Sheikh outside his house at Mandji village in Sopore, Baramulla district, on Thursday night. Meanwhile, security forces apprehended a Hizbul Mujahideen militant, Fayaz Ahmad Chopan, alias Rahi, from the forests of Magam in Handwara area of Kupwara district.
