Jammu: There has been a rise in terrorist infiltration into Jammu and Kashmir from across the Line of Control (LoC), says the Indian Army. Lt. Gen. Ashok Kapur, corps commander of 16 Corps, noted with concern the 'rising trend in infiltration'. His troops guard the 240- km stretch of the LoC south of Pir Panjal in the Jammu region that is frequently used by militants to cross over to Indian territory from Pakistan controlled Kashmir. 'All I can say at the moment is that infiltration has picked up. This can be judged from the fact that we have killed 17 infiltrators this month alone,' Gen. Kapur told reporters at the corps headquarters in Nagrota, 13 km from here.
