BJP holds rally, torches effigy of Peerzada

Jammu: The Jammu and Samba district Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today took out a rally to protest against the statement of Pradesh Congress chief and Minister of Rural Development, Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed for his outbursts regarding the implementation of Wazir Commission report. The rally which was led by the district BJP president Jammu Kavinder Gupta and Party Samba district chief Chander Parkash Ganga started from Party headquarters at Pt.Prem Nath Dogra Bhawan and after passing through Jain Bazar, Purani Mandi and Rani Talab, it culminated at City Chowk. The irate BJP men later burnt the effigy of PCC chief at City Chowk. The protesters enroute shouting slogans criticised the PCC chief for his outbursts. They said that Peerzada’s statement should leave no one in any doubt as the statement has fully exposed the Party for betraying the people of Jammu region who returned 15 Party MLAs to Assembly in 2002. Kavinder Gupta while lashing out at Congress said the Party has always deceived the people of Jammu and played with their sentiments by granting a preferential treatment to Kashmir. Mr Ganga said BJP will continue its struggle for implantation of Wazir Commission report and grant of district status to Reasi, Kishtwar and Samba. BJYM chief Anil Parihar who also addressed the rally said his party will work shoulder to shoulder with the parent organisation in this struggle. He announced that his Party will also launch the Tiranga Yatra on September 25 from Party Headquarters to Satwari Chowk. Among prominent who were present include Subash Jandial, H L Chatta, Yudhvir Sethi and Sanjay Mahajan.
