Yasin, Shabir, Mirwaiz Invited To EU

Srinagar: Chairman JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik, president Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah and chairman Awami Action Committee (AAC) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have been invited by the All Party Group for Kashmir in the European Parliament to take part in the Kashmir EU week to be held at Brussels from October 11 to 15. In a statement issued here, the spokesman of JKLF has said that the JKLF chairman has been invited in the past to take part in such conferences, but due to the denial of the travel documents he could not take part in them. The spokesman lauded the role of European Union and said that the Union has time and again raised the Kashmir issue which was reflected in the recent visit of the parliamentary delegation of the Union. He expressed its gratitude to the Union for highligting the cause of the Kashmiris. The spokesman of DFP in a statement has said that the conference is being held to discuss about the various ramifications of the Kashmir issue and to suggest the solution to the Kashmir issue. He added that the EU has already accepted the disputed nature of the Kashmir issue and they have taken Kashmiris as the principal party to the issue. The spokesman said that the delegation of EU which is going to visit the valley from September 27 would hold talks with the DFP president Shabir Ahmad Shah on the next day at his residence. In a statement, the spokesman of AAC has said that the objective of holding this week is to aware the people living in the European countries about the present political situation prevailing in the state. He added that this would help in finding a peaceful and long lasting solution to the Kashmir issue. Meanwhile, the spokesman said that the delegation of EU is likely to visit the valley in the coming days and they would meet the leaders of APHC (A) on September 27. He added that the talks would focus on the prevailing political situation in the valley.
