PDP believes in action: Mufti

Jammu: Describing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) a peoples’ movement and not merely a political party, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said that his party does not believe only in slogans but more in action. The Chief Minister was addressing of people who had come from various parts of the Valley, particularly from Ganderbal and Batmaloo areas to compliment him for his party’s victory on both the seats in assembly bye-elections. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said that his party’s victory in bye- elections indicate that people have full faith in PDP and the governance of the coalition government during its two years in office. He said the victory of four assembly seats by coalition government is an endorsement of the programmes and policies of the government. Chief Minister said that after assuming the office coalition government came up with policies and programmes aimed at restoration of peace in the state including demand for an Indo Pak dialogue. He said these policies have yielded good results. He said our youth have suffered a lot on account of disturbance, considering this fact the government initiated several measures and schemes to provide them some relief adding that several schemes are in the pipeline to overcome the unemployment problem. The Chief Minister thanked the people for extending their full support to his party by participating in the elections. Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Qazi Mohammad Afzal, Minister for State for Social Welfare Ghulam Hassan Khan, MLA, Pir Mohammad Hussain and PDP spokesman, Basharat Bukhari were also present on the occasion.
