PML set to form govt in Northern Areas

Islamabad: The Pakistan Muslim League (PML) has secured comfortable position to form government in the Northern Areas Legislative Council after getting support of eight independent candidates. Senator Nisar Memon congratulating these independent members said that the PML would form the government with the support of these independents in Northern Areas Legislative Council. He said that the arty would now take effective measures to implement the manifesto of the party announced before the elections of the NALC. Nisar Memon said Rs 500 million development package announced by President General Pervez Musharraf for the Northern Areas would change the fate of the people living there. He also said that the PML would promote democratic norms in the Northern Areas and would ensure full autonomy so that the people could get all the basic needs of life at their doorsteps. Nisar Memon and Iqbal Dar also met with President PML Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain before his departure to New York and explained the details of the elections of NALC.
