Lahore: The Kashmiris do not want to be a part of Pakistan, SAFMA general secretary Imtiaz Alam has said. 'Kashmiris accept Pakistan to support their independence, but that does not mean they want to be part of Pakistan,' the Daily Times quoted Alma as saying on Tuesday at a meeting of the journalists body called to elicit the views of journalists who visited Kashmir recently. The veteran Pakistani journalist presided over the meeting held at the Lahore Press Club. On the occasion, he asked the fundamentalists to revise their Kashmir policy and start a political and public debate to understand the long-standing issue. The Association observed that any political solution to the Kashmir issue should be arrived at by India and Pakistan with the active participation of the Kashmiris.
