Sovereignty Unacceptable To Kashmiris: Qayum

Muzaffarabad: Former AJK premier and supreme head of Muslim Conference Sardar Abdul Qayum has said grant of independent status to Kashmir was unacceptable to Kashmiri nation that want resolution of the longstanding conflict through peaceful means. He emphasized Kashmiris living on both sides of Line of Control be allowed interaction since this was imperative to help carry ahead the ongoing peace process concretely. Abdul Qayum was speaking to a reception he hosted for the visiting delegation of South Asia Free Media Association (SAFMA) here. He said he still supported Kashmir's accession to Pakistan and the incorporation of accession clause in Azad Jammu and Kashmir constitution was his brainchild. He said war was not a solution to the problem. He said if a roadmap on Kashmir acceptable to the Kashmiri people was proposed, this would oblige freedom fighters to lay down their arms.
