Chief Secy, IG Police NA And Gilgit Removed

Islamabad: A high level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shuakt Aziz to review the situation of Northern Areas at the Prime Minister Secretariat here on Thursday in which it was decided to remove the Chief Secretary and Inspector General of Police Northern Areas and Gilgit in the context of fresh situation. Nadeem Manzoor, who was in waiting list of Establishment Division has been transferred and appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Northern Areas and Gilgit in place of Muhammad Farid Khan who was serving as Chief Secretary.Sarmad Saeed Khan has been posted as Inspector General of Police Northern Areas and Gilgit in place of Maj (Retd) Sakhi Ullah Tareen, who was serving as Inspector General of Police. Federal Interior Minister, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas, Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, Federal Interior Secretary, Syed Kamal Shah and other high ups also attended the meeting. The meeting discussed serious law and order situation, establishment of riminal Investigation Department (CID) and other hot issues of Northern Areas and Gilgit. Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz directed that the existing administrative machinery should be strengthened and ban on display of weapons should be strictly enforced.
