  Ex IGP Northern Areas laid to rest

Peshawar: Former IGP of Northern Areas Major (retd) Sakhiullah Khan Tareen, who was gunned down by unknown assailants the other day, was laid to rest in Cantonment Board graveyard with full police honour here on Thursday. The IGP NWFP Mohammad Raffat Pasha, IG Motorway Major (retd) Ziaul Hassan, home secretary NWFP Abdul Karim Qasuria, ex- IGPs Syed Masood Shah and Muhammad Saeed Khan, ex IGP Northern Areas Ahsan Mukhtiar Ashraf, Additional IGP investigation Masood Ahmad Paracha, and Additional IGP Headquarters Khurshid Alam Khan, DIG Motorway Muhammad Azam Khan, acting commandant Frontier Constabulary Shaukat Ali Khan, DIG Khalid Masood, DIG Hazara range Rao Amin Hashim, Frontier Constabulary and Frontier Corps officers, AIGS, SPs and other high ranking military, civil and police officers largely attended the Nimaz-e-Janaza. Earlier, the body of Sakhiullah Tareen was brought to Peshawar through a special helicopter. The deceased was survived by a widow, four sons and a daughter. A smart contingent of police presented guard of honour to the coffin of Shaheed. Qul of the deceased would be held at his Hayatabad residence today (Friday).
