Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-N has severely condemned the statement of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in New Delhi that settlement of the Kashmir issue should be found without recourse to the UN resolutions. In a statement, central Information Secretary Muhammed Siddique-ul- Farooque said that ignoring the UN resolutions meant confirmation of the false position of India and Chaudhry Shujaat's remarks clearly indicate that he and his cousin Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi have set aside national interests and have linked interests with India. The PML-N leader said that Chaudhry Brothers had even surpassed General Pervez Musharraf in pampering Indians at the cost of vital national interests. He said that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had neither interest in the resolution of Kashmir issue nor had any idea of its importance because he had spent his life in other pursuits. He said that the people of Pakistan strongly believed in the principles of Quaid-i-Azam, who had declared Kashmir to be the jugular vein of Pakistan. They believe that a plebiscite under the UN resolutions is the only way to free Kashmir from the Indian military occupation. He said that present rulers in Pakistan had been trying hard for the past five-and-a-half years to convince the people of seeking a Kashmir solution beyond the UN resolutions but all patriotic people and political parties have rejected this plan. Siddique-ul-Farooque referred to the decision of ARD summit held on Monday, declaring that no option for settlement of the Kashmir issue other than plebiscite according to UN resolutions would be accepted.
