Jammu: In a major success, security forces have destroyed the first-ever militant training camp in Jammu and Kashmir in Doda district and killed five ultras in the operation, official sources today said. Acting on specific information, special troopers accompanied by a police party zeroed in on a major militant training camp near the Himachal Pradesh border in Sui Patiala forests in Doda district yesterday and in the ensuing gunbattle five ultras were killed, the sources said. One policeman, who had recieved minor injuries was hospitalised, the sources told PTI adding, the entire militant training camp was destroyed by the troops. This is first ever local militant training camp which has been discovered and destroyed by troops in Jammu and Kashmir, the sources said. Five AK rifles, 9 grenades, 139 rounds of ammunition, 17 magazines, one RPG, one pika gun, one wireless communication set was recovered from the area, they said. Meanwhile, security forces also busted five hideouts and recovered 12 kg of RDX along with other ammunition in Jammu division. Acting on specific information, troops busted a hideout in Gool area of Udhampur district and recovered 12 kg of RDX, water containers, two detonators, four Improvised Explosive Devices and some documents early today, they said. Troops recovered two SLRs, 180 rounds, a grenade, a rifle grenade, a solar panal and four blankets from a hideout in Kunan Nala area of Doda district last night, they said. Another hidoeut was busted at Koolgwas in Doda district and 85 rounds, an IED, a letter pad of Hizbul Mujahideen and some ammunition was recovered from it last night, they said. Troops busted two more hideouts in Berirakh and Seri areas in Poonch and Rajouri districts.
