Air Safari Package Launched For Tourists In J&K

Srinagar: Tourists can now enjoy an aerial view of world-famous scenic spots in Jammu and Kashmir, thanks to an air safari package launched by the state Tourism Development Corporation here today. The beautiful locales of Gulmarg, Pahalgam and peaks of Nun Kun feature in the service, launched to promote tourism in the state. In the inaugural 30-minute sortie, state Tourism Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir, Italian Ambassador Antonio Armellini, his wife, and councillor in Italian Embassy Paolo Trichlo, principal secretary (Tourism) Anil Goswami and some tourists had an aerial view of several scenic spots. The air safari has been launched to showcase the natural beauty of the state besides including new tourist destinations developed by the government, Mir said. Managing Director of the state Tourism Development Corporation, Abdul Aziz Wani said people would be charged Rs 3,300 for an aerial visit to places such as Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Nun Kun, Yusmarg and Dodhpathri. Rs 6,600 per person would be charged for an hour-long air safari to Leh and Kargil whereas a Srinagar-Leh one-and-half hour sortie would cost Rs 11,200, he added. The Italian ambassador termed the trip as 'delightful' and was impressed with the beautiful locales.
