LeT Militant, Cop Killed In Kashmir

Srinagar: A Lashkar-e-Toiba militant and a constable were killed in separate incidents across Kashmir since last evening, an official spokesman said today. A Lashkar-e-Toiba militant, Karimullah of Pakistan, was killed by the troops of 32 RR in a gunfight at Machipor, Fidderpora under the Panzala Police Station in the Baramulla district . One AK 47 rifle, three magazines, two hand grenades, one pouch and one radio set were seized from him. Police today recovered a bullet-ridden body of constable Mushtaq Ahmad, who was attached with the Special Operation Group camp at Tral, from village Arigam Gumraz under the Tral Police Station in Awantipora area of the Pulwama district, the spokesman said. Security forces seized a hand grenade and five AK rounds from the house of Abdul Rahim Najar at Tangmarg in Baramulla district. Meanwhile, seven houses were completely gutted in a devastating fire that broke out in village Saredab Tulail in north Kashmir last evening, officials sources said today. The sources said the fire broke out in Saredab Tulail under the Gurez Police Station in the border district of Baramulla last evening. However, no loss of life was reported. The sources said the cause of the fire is being ascertained.
