Five Terrorist Among Eight Killed In J&K

Srinagar: Eight persons, including five terrorist and a security personnel were killed while two civilians, were shot at by terrorist in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir since last evening. Security forces arrested a terrorist of Harkat-e-Jehadi Islami (HUJI) and recovered Chinese pistol, its one magazine, 16 rounds, a hand grenade, a rubber bamp and some letter pads of HUJI outfit from him, a police spokesman said. He said one civilian Shabir Ahmad Shah of Palahalan passed away in the hospital on Sunday raising the number of persons killed in an encounter between terrorist and the security forces in Bahamulla district to five. Two top terrorist of Hizbul Mujahideen, a gunner of army and a civilian Aijaz Ahmad Dar were killed in the encounter that broke out during search operation at Raipora-Palhallan on Saturday, the spokesman said. He said police recovered body of a local Lashkar-e-Toiba militant Fayaz Jin from Sumbal forest area of Baramulla on Sunday. The slain terrorist has been killed by his colleagues few days ago. Another terrorist, a Pakistan national was killed in an encounter with security forces at Akhal village under Kulgam police station in Anantnag district on Sunday, the spokesman said, adding one self loading rifle with two rounds was recovered from him. He said a local militant Zakir Hussain Shah of Yamrach-Yaripora was killed in Anantnag district on Sunday.
