Majority Community Awaits KPs Return: Mirwaiz
6 February 2006
Jammu: The Hurriyat Conference today said the Kashmir issue and return of displaced Kashmiri Pandit community were two separate issues and their return to the valley will be a big step towards resolution of the dispute. 'The Muslim majority community are awaiting return of KPs to the valley with open arms. The situation has changed in valley and we want to see you people back at the earliest,' Hurriyat chief Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said while addressing KPs during an interactive session organised by All Migrant Camps Coordination Committee here. 'The APHC too wants to see them back with dignity and honour,' he said. Earlier, KP leaders apprised the Mirwaiz about their plight since the mass exodus of the community. 'We have been forced to live under inhuman conditions in one room tenements at different migrants camps here,' they said asking the Hurriyat leadership to involve them in talks.
