LeT Ultra Held: Attempt To Strike In Jammu Foiled

Jammu: With the arrest of one Lashkar-e-Toiba militant from Gujjar Nagar area, who was wanted in many cases of IED blasts and killings in Valley, police today foiled militants attempt to strike in Jammu.Based on specific information about the presence of a militant provided by intelligence, a joint operation was carried out by J&K Police and troops of Tiger Division in Gujjar Nagar area. During search operation, a joint team succeeded in arresting one militant identified as Noor Mohammad son of Mohammad Yousaf of Chiri village in Kokernag of Anantnag district, said SSP Jammu Mukesh Singh. 'He was wanted in five cases of IED blasts and killings in Valley. On December 2003, one IED was planted near CRPF bunker at Kokernag in which one CRPF personnel was killed, while in January 2004 around four army personnel were killed in an IED blast planted by him in Magam Morh,' SSP added. A case has been registered at police station Satwari.
