Two Hizb Militants Surrender In J&K

Jammu: Two militants of the Hizbul Mujahideen surrendered before the Indian Army on Wednesday in Jammu and Kashmir's mountainous Rajouri district. Javed, 20, and Abdul Hamid, 19, surrendered before the commander of 13 Sikhs at Bhimber Gali, about 200 km from Jammu, said an army spokesperson. 'Javed told the army that he was abducted by militants from his home in Thanamandi in 2002 while Abdul Hamid said he was kidnapped from school and taken across the Line of Control (LOC) to Pakistan for training,' 16 Corps spokesperson Col DK Badola said. Both the militants also gave up their arms and ammunitions as well as wireless sets, he said. About 30 militants of the Hizbul Mujahideen, including some commanders, have surrendered in January- February in Doda district.
